Fátima Aparicio

Fátima Aparicio obtained her Degree in Chemistry by Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2008. During her final year in Chemistry she participated in the synthesis and development of new serotoninergic substances in Prof. María Luz López's research group. She obtained her PhD degree in 2014 working with Prof. Luis Sánchez on Chirality in Supramolecular Polymers. She carried out a predoctoral stay of 6 months in Prof. Carsten Schmuck's research group at the Universität Duisburg-Essen (Germany) where she studied the self-assembly of zwitterionic units. After that, she spent 2 Postdoctoral years as a Researcher of Prof. Marc Sallé's research group at the Université d'Angers (France) working on supramolecular gels based on non-linear optically-active compounds and on the high order organization of foldamers. In November 2016, she joined Dr. David González's research group (MSMn) at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid where she is focused on the self-assembly of amphiphilic monomers into functional tubular nanostructures with defined diameters and tuneable inner pores. She was consecutively awarded with a MSCA-Cofund “Intertalentum” (2017-2019), a MSCA-Individual Fellowship (2019-2021) and a competitive project funded for young researchers from the Spanish MICINN (JIN: 2021-2024). Recently, she has been awarded a Ramon y Cajal Fellowship (2023-2028).

Alberto de Juan

Alberto de Juan obtained his BSc in Chemistry in June 2011 from the Complutense University of Madrid. In September 2012, he joined Molecular Materials group of Prof. Nazario Martín León to obtain his Master Degree from Complutense University of Madrid. He continued his research career under the supervision of Dr. Emilio M. Pérez Álvarez in IMDEA Nanoscience. His research was focused on the development of new derivatives of Carbon Nanotubes Mechanically Interlocked (MINTs) for their application in catalysis and material science. In March 2017, he obtained his PhD Degree, obtaining the highest grade “Sobresaliente Cum Laude”.
In September 2017, Alberto joined the group of Professor Stephen M. Goldup at the University of Southampton as a postdoctoral researcher. His main research was based on the development of new synthetic routes for obtaining Mechanically Planar Chiral Rotaxanes in an stereoselective manner.
In October 2019, he joined the Nanostructured Molecular Systems and Materials group at the Autonoma University of Madrid, under the supervision of Professor David González Rodríguez. He is involved in different projects dedicated to supramolecular chemistry based on hydrogen bond.

Fernando García Guijarro

Fernando García Guijarro obtained his BSc in Chemistry in June 2012 from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. That same year, he joined the group of Prof. María Belén Cid to obtain his M. Sc. in Organic Chemistry in July 2014 from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Throughout this period, it carried out the development of a general aminocatalytic method for synthesis of aldimines, which was applied in the preparation of nitrones. After that, he continued his research career in Prof. Fernando Langa research group at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. He focused on the synthesis, electronic properties and applications of π-conjugated oligomers based on thiophene in different fields of Materials Science. Moreover, he carried out a predoctoral stay of 3 months in Prof. Jean-Francois Nierengarten research group at the University of Strasbourg (France) where he studied the modular construction and hierarchical gelation of organooxotin nanoclusters derived from thienylenevinylene oligomers. In December 2019, he obtained his PhD degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (outstanding, achieved with "cum laude" mention). Afterwards, he spent 2 Postdoctoral years as a Researcher in the same group. His main research was based on the synthesis of new small molecule acceptors and donors for organic solar cells. In January 2022, he joined Prof. David González’s research Nanostructured Molecular Systems and Materials (MSMn) group at the Autónoma University of Madrid through Margarita Salas Fellowship.
